Change
As you age, beauty seems to mutate before your very eyes, in color, shape, form, texture, and mood.
It happens in all of life-clothing, music, food, faith, family, furnishings, cinema, travel, and romance.
For me, as a career photographer, most of all, this transfiguration process, happens in my photography, and the photographic process behind my photography.
What once captured my “Stare and Glare” hardly gets a “Wink or Blink” from me.
Conversely, what pictures once I seemed to ignore, now enrapture and bewitch me.
Pinch me. Life is innately beautiful!
It’s the changing of the seasons.
It’s the recasting, remodeling, restyling of our senses over what we consider beautiful, lyrical, fencible.
This metamorphic process seems to follow me right through editing.
The pictures that were once perfect strangers are now dear friends.
Since I approach my photography, autobiographically, I love this evolution because it tells me that my inner life is evolving and undergoing a sea of change, right along with my craft.
Click.
Like a new pescatarian meal, or a new version of my beloved Texas Margaritas, or a new vase of flowers, or a new kiss from a friend.Life, beautifully, is pregnant with change.
Before our very eyes, as we change, our style, bias, and preferences reshape, refashion, redesign, right alongside us.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” ― Lao Tzu
